Introduction
These terms and conditions apply when you use the DML Locksmiths website, contact us for a quote, or book locksmith services with DML Locksmiths in Ipswich and the surrounding Suffolk areas.
By requesting a quote, booking a job, using our website or agreeing for work to begin, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully and contact us if anything is unclear before work starts.
These terms are written to be clear and fair. They should be reviewed by the business owner or a legal professional before the page is published.
Our Locksmith Services
DML Locksmiths provides domestic and local locksmith services, which may include emergency lockouts, lock fitting, lock repairs, key cutting, and door or window adjustments.
Service availability may depend on your location, the urgency of the job, parts availability, safety considerations and the type of lock, door or window involved.
- We aim to provide honest advice and professional workmanship.
- Where possible, non-destructive entry methods will be considered first.
- If additional work or parts are needed, this will be explained before proceeding where practical.
Quotes, Pricing & Estimates
Any quote or estimate given by phone, message, email or website enquiry is based on the information you provide at the time. The final price may change if the job is different from what was described, if extra parts are needed, or if additional work is requested.
No Call-Out Fee
DML Locksmiths advertises no call-out fee. You pay for the agreed work, parts and labour.
Clear Pricing
Where possible, pricing will be explained before work begins so there are no hidden surprises.
Parts & Materials
Locks, keys and other parts may be charged in addition to labour unless included in the quoted price.
Changed Job Scope
If the job changes on arrival, Sean will explain the options and any updated cost before continuing.
Bookings, Access & Customer Responsibility
When booking a locksmith service, you must provide accurate contact details, the correct job address and a clear description of the issue. You are responsible for ensuring that someone with authority is available to approve the work and provide safe access.
For lockouts, lock changes or security-related work, we may ask for reasonable proof that you are authorised to access or make changes to the property. Work may be refused if ownership, tenancy or authority cannot be reasonably verified.
- Please make sure pets, vehicles or obstacles do not prevent safe access to the working area.
- Please tell us in advance about any known safety risks, parking restrictions or access issues.
- Estimated arrival times are given in good faith but can be affected by traffic, emergencies, weather or previous jobs taking longer than expected.
Payments
Payment is normally due when the work is completed unless agreed otherwise in writing. Accepted payment methods should be confirmed directly with DML Locksmiths before or during the booking.
Invoices, receipts or job records may be issued where appropriate. If payment is not made when due, DML Locksmiths may take reasonable steps to recover the outstanding amount.
Cancellations & Missed Appointments
If you need to cancel or rearrange a booking, please contact DML Locksmiths as soon as possible. This helps avoid unnecessary travel and allows Sean to offer the appointment to another customer.
If Sean has already travelled, ordered specific parts, or started work, you may still be responsible for reasonable costs already incurred. Emergency bookings may be harder to cancel once attendance is already underway.
Workmanship, Parts & Limitations
DML Locksmiths aims to carry out work with reasonable care and skill. Where supplied parts come with a manufacturer warranty, that warranty will usually be subject to the manufacturer's own terms.
We are not responsible for faults caused by misuse, attempted repairs by others, accidental damage, forced entry, weather damage, structural movement, warped doors, poor existing installation, or issues unrelated to the work completed by DML Locksmiths.
If you believe there is a problem with work recently completed, contact DML Locksmiths promptly so the issue can be reviewed.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. DML Locksmiths is not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of business, or losses caused by inaccurate information provided by the customer.
For security-related work, customers remain responsible for choosing whether the recommended lock, repair or security option is suitable for their property and insurance requirements.
